LP-CC2652R7: BLE OAD steps

I am following this tutorial to try out BLE OAD on the LPs - Setting up the BLE OAD Environment — SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK BLE5-Stack User's Guide 1.01.01.00 documentation

1) For the target setup, in point number 3, it tells us to build the stack project. What is the stack project?

2) Point 4 tells us to flash app project and point 5 tells us to flash BIM project. Won't flashing the BIM project erase the app project?

Connecting BTool to host_test:

I followed all steps listed in the guide. However, when I try to scan on the BTool, I get this error and no devices are discovered

Meanwhile, the target device gives me the following logs:

What am I doing wrong? Or, by any chance am I referring to the wrong guide?

I am using SimpleLink CC13xx CC26xx SDK (7.10.01.24)

Hello Vivek,

I would recommend using the CC13xx/CC26xx SLAs to implement OAD. I will link the OAD Fundamentals SLA here.

For your question, the .hex file will be flashed onto one board. From there you connect that board to BTool. After this, the .bin file is flashed onto the other board. I used uniflash for this. The SLA provided above goes through the same process, so it may be beneficial for you to check out. Let me know if this works for you.

This issue got resolved. I was using the tool downloaded from online. Instead using the tool bundled with the SDK solved it.

I was able to flash a new image over BLE.

Now, could you please guide me how I can add BLE OAD to any project that I have? Also, is it possible to send the OAD blocks through an app? Is there a guide for that which you can point me to?

Hello Vivek,

To implement BLE OAD within any project, you should follow the directions for the BLE Enhanced OAD Advanced. This SimpleLink Academy will step you through the process of implementing BLE OAD on any project.

Additionally, it is possible to send OAD blocks through an app. You can use the SimpleLink Connect app to do this. The app is available on iOS and Android.

For more information on OAD, please reference the OAD chapter within the BLE5-Stack User's Guide.

Hi,

1 x CC26x2 LaunchPad needs to programmed with the simple peripheral off chip OAD example program. You also need to program the BIM off chip. Have you done this?

1 x CC26x2 LaunchPad needs to be program with the host_test_app.hex which can be found here \\examples\rtos\LP_CC2652R7\ble5stack\hexfiles. Have you done this?

For the btool you need to select the Run_BTool.bat
