LP-CC2652R7: Power settings

Hello,

I have a LP-CC2652R7 and seen that there are two different options for power:

1. Target-Supplied Power

2. Probe-Supplied Power

What is the exact difference? And which one I should use?

Hello Sebastian,

Here is a link to the CC2652R7 LaunchPad User's Guide. You may be referring to XDS110 Debug Probe instructions. Probe-supplied power indicates that the XDS110 debugger supplies power to the device (default), whereas target-supplied power would mean that an external power source is providing power to the CC2652R7 on-board the LP-CC2652R7 hardware (in this instance, the 3V3 header should be disconnected and "XDS110 Power" jumper moved to "Extern Pwr" placement).

Thanks. But if I choose target-supplied power it's not possible to measure the current right?

With probe-supplied you could measure power consumption with EnergyTrace. Target-supplied is good for using a multimeter or power analyzer to perform such measurements.
