CC2340R5: SmartRF Studio 8 is not detecting target

Part Number: CC2340R5

Team,

Customer is using LP-EM-CC2340R5 with XDS110-ET board. They are using latest F3 SDK 7.20.00 and SmartRF Studio 8 version v1.0.1.

When they try to connect, the XDS connection is present as shown in pics. But when we open Radio Control Window it shows in Target as <None Available>. Attaching both the ss

I tried this on my end it detects and works. However, it is not working at customer end. The only change between my setup and customer's we could find is I have LP-XDS110-ET Rev B and they have Rev E1 version. For LP-EM-CC2340R5 we both are using Rev A.

Please help on how to proceed.

Regards,

Sai.

  • Sai,

I am not having any issues with using the XDS110 (Rev B or Rev E) and LP-EM-CC2340R5 Rev B inside of Smart RF Studio 8 v1.0.1.  The customer should not be using Rev A / PG 1.0 silicon as this is a pre-production product and support for it ended when the device was released with Rev B / PG 2.0 in May 2023.  I would not expect CC2340R5 Rev A silicon to operate using Smart RF Studio 8 v1.0.1 and I recommend that the customer is supplied with a CC2340R5 Rev B LaunchPad immediately.  This is the only version now sold and distributed on TI's website.

    Ryan

  • Okay. Let me ship them the latest revision samples of the LP-EM-CC2340R5 and proceed further.
