Archived versions SmartRF Programmer Application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, FLASH-PROGRAMMER, CC2540

I'm looking for older versions of Smartrf programmer.  Preferrably versions 1.0, 1.1 and maybe 1.2.  Is there an archived list of these?

thanks

  • Hi Shawn,

Can you please provide more background around your request?

In general, the currently available versions of FLASH-PROGRAMMER and UNIFLASH should be compatible with all the connectivity devices available.

    Best regards,

  • We are programming the PAN1721 BLE module.  We recently updated our PCs and lost the original version of SmartRf that we were using.  Anyway, when we attempt to use SmartRF V2, it resets the MCU on our PCB. Overall, it is not as robust as the original version.  Sometimes it programs our BLE module and sometimes if fails. Too many issues.  We've tried V2 on several machines with the same results.  It's very intermittent and causes side effects as mentioned.  If you could point me to where I can download an early version of V1 I'm sure this will solve our issues.  Additionally, we've been programming and selling this product for 5 years without any issues.

  • Hi,

I am a bit confused here.

    1. Can you confirm you are looking for a tool to flash the PAN1721 BLE module?
    2. Can you confirm your version of the PAN1721 BLE module is based on the CC2541 device?

If you answer yes to both questions, then it sounds like you need Flash Programmer V1 available here: https://www.ti.com/tool/FLASH-PROGRAMMER

In all the cases, please note:

    - SmartRF Studio is a tool to test the radio performances of the device

    - Flash Programmer V2 does not support CC254x

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,

  • Yes to both questions you asked.

Moreover, the version of flash programmer you suggested does not support the CC2541.

  • Hi Shawn,

Thank you for reporting this. Actually, it looks like there is a mistake on the "Supported Product" list for FLASH-PROGRAMMER. I have installed the tool and I confirm it supports CC2540/CC2541.

    Best regards,
