CC2340R5: How to enter low power mode?

Hi David, 

I have test result and test step.

Can you help me to comfirm where is the issue I miss.

The power consumption still very high.

Step 1. import clean project "basic_ble_LP_EM_CC2340R5_freertos_ticlang"

Step 2. configure advertising interval as 5s

Step3. Disable UART Debug.

Test Result is below:

CC2340 seems only enter Idle mode not Standby mode.

(same as e2e.ti.com/.../cc2340r5-the-sample-code-power-does-not-go-into-standby-mode

Please make sure you are not in debug mode while running EnergyTrace , just flash the device and run EnergyTrace after.

Have you tried disabling the Display Module?

Inside basic_ble.syscfg - RF Stacks - BLE - Advanced Settings (Configure Extended Settings), select “Disable The Display Module”.

If you have configured the device as "peripheral" you should be able to see something like this as adv events:

I have selected “Disable The Display Module”, but nothing change.

Are you using a custom board? Is this behaviour the same on a TI launchpad?

Please confirm that you are not running in debug mode.

Could you please try using EnergyTrace after flashing the following image (basic_ble project with 5sec adv interval) to make sure the issue is not coming from the SW side? You should get a power consumption of around 0.0035 mA with this configuration.

Yes, I am not in debug mode.

Hello Adam,

I cannot access the drive folder.

Could you try to share the code you have modified from basic_ble as an attachment here?

Although the .hex file I have shared gives me already a very different average current consumption.

Please allow me one more day to review this.

Have you tried with a different board? Do you have the same issue?

after import sample code I only change

1. advertising interval 

2. delete display

3. add Display_DISABLE_ALL in pre-define

I have some question about  is early release version cc2340r5 have the issue in power control?
