CC2642R: Transmit Power - SmartRF

Part Number: CC2642R

Hi team,

I have a customer who has a question on the CC2642R - his message is below.

"We are using the CC2642R BLE SOC. I found that the transmit power is about 2dB low compare to the setting on SmartRF tool when set to 5dBm. I tested the EVK and it exhibit the same behavior. I am wondering if this is normal?"

Thanks in advance!

Marco

  • Hi Marco,

I am expecting to see an update to SmartRF Studio and the CC2642R SDK with a new PA table setting for +5 dBm. In the meantime you can manually set the new value in SmartRF Studio with the following steps:

    1. Go to settings -> Custom Target Configuration
    2. Go to the "Output Power" tab and change TX power setting for 5 dBm from 0x7217 to 0x8623

    Best Regards,

    Jake
