programming header on keyfob demo

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

With the keyfob demo hardware, the CC Debugger attaches via the 10 pin debug header.

The programming pins from the CC2540 attach to the header on the following pins:  1, 3, 4, 7, and 9.  There are 4 other pins from the CC2540 that attach to this header at pins 5, 6, 8, and 10.  My questions are regarding these 4 pins:

Are they necessary for the CC Debugger to work?

Why are they located on this header?

When designing custom hardware, can these four lines be ignored, thereby only having 5 connected pins on the programming header?

Thank you,
