CC2642R: The RF transmit power is abnormal

Part Number: CC2642R

Dear TI expert,

Our end customers use CC2642 on their modules, and have experience in large quantities, recently found in production test that more than 200pcs of CC2642 can not pass the wireless network test, the problem is that the output power is lower than the normal IC (only 2.5dbm), after replacing the normal IC using the same method test, the result is normal (3.5dbm), is this a product failure? Why is the probability so high? Or is there a problem with our testing method? Can you provide some troubleshooting ideas? Many thanks!

  • Hello,

We recently updated the the settings for the CC2642R to improve transmit performance at 5 dBm. Please see the latest version of the data sheet. It includes the optimized setting for 5 dBm. I'm including it below as well:

Please try adjusting this setting and see if the performance matches your expectations.

    Best Regards,

    Jake
