CC2650MODA: Transitioning from CC2640R2F in a 3rd party module to CC2650MODA

Hi team,

We're trying to switch from a 3rd party module supplier using the CC2640R2F on their module to the CC2650MODA.

Would I be able to use the same binary file to program the CC2650MODA as I'd use for the CC2640R2F?

Hi Jacob,

I am afraid CC2640/CC2650 (used as baseline for the CC2650MODA) and CC2640R2F are not binary compatible.

Thank you for the guidance. So would the CC2640 and CC2650 binaries be useable between the two?

Hi,

To be as clear as possible:

CC2650 and CC2650MODA are binary compatible.
CC2640 and CC2650 are binary compatible as long as Bluetooth LE is the only RF protocol used.
CC2640 and CC2650MODA are binary compatible as long as Bluetooth LE is the only RF protocol used.
CC2640R2F and CC2640 are not binary compatible.
CC2640R2F and CC2650 are not binary compatible.
