CC2652RSIP: CC2652RSIP 1.8 V power

Part Number: CC2652RSIP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2652RB

Hi Team,

I wanted to confirm if CC2652RSIP and CC2651RSIPA can run of 1.8 V power supply. Currently using CC2652RB, which has a spec for an external regulator mode to operate in 1.8V input as shown below from the datasheet.

Neither CC2652RSIP nor CC2651RSIPA have that same specification shown below, but my understanding is that these devices are similar/ the same core.

Can both of those be powered with 1.8 V supply?

Thanks!

  • Hi Nishka,

Neither of those devices have a separate pin for VDDR like the CC2652RB. The DCDC circuitry (inductor and capacitor) are already built into the SIP package and since there's no pin to supply the VDDR voltage on the package external regulator mode is not relevant to the design. Only one supply is needed (VDDS) and as shown above it can range from 1.8V to 3.8V.

    BR,

    Jake

  • Hi Jake,

Thanks for the clarification. However, if the minimum is 1.8V does that mean the input supply must always be over 1.8V? Can the device be powered with a 1.8V supply, which may dip below 1.8V?

  • Hi Nishka,

Brownout detect (BOD) will trip at 1.75V (falling) so the power supply must remain above 1.75V otherwise reset can occur.
