CC2652R: Scan command timeout. Full LE command features are supported by CC2562R1 firmware?

Hi,

Customer is able to access CC2652R1 by using BlueZ hcitool.

However, customer can't scan device by using BlueZ hcitool or bluetoothctl.

The scan command opcode is 0x200b/0x200c. When host send this scan command to CC2652R1, it looks CC2652R1 didn't response and then host is timeout.

We're not sure if full le command features are supported by CC2652R1 firmware?

Meanwhile, is there new firmware to support full le command features for cc2562r1?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. At this time, the CC2652R does not support a complete controller-only implementation and therefore does not support the BlueZ stack. However, you can use the host_test project with the btool software to enable the functionality you are looking for. You should be able to make the device scan, connect, and perform all standard BLE operations through the HCI commands via the host_test + btool interface.

Currently, we use host_test example in CCS as firmware in our bt application.

host_test + btool may be a solution in our IOT application.

As I know, btool can only support windows environment but not support linux environment.

How can I do host_test, btool and bluez integration in linux environment ??

Hi,

To be clear, host_test is not a complete controller only implementation so it will likely not work 100% with bluez and we do not offer bluez support for this device. You can try using host_test with bluez but will likely run into command gaps.

As mentioned previously, you should use btool to control host_test or implement your own linux application similar to host_test to send the commands.

Host_test may be able to run in a linux GUI environment. The following thread discusses some of this:
