CC2340R5: BLE module Current consumption issue

Hi All,

My problem is that :

Some of my BLE modules are taking 1.2mA to 1.5mA current in active mode .

Some of my BLE modules are taking 1.0mA to 1.2mA current in active mode .(why MCU taking less or higher current )

What could be the possible case here.

I have checked all the hardware related things .

Can anyone suggest in this way?

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Please help me with the following questions to better understand you case:

    1. What SDK version and project are you using? Is it an out of the box example from the SDK like basic_ble?
    2. If it is not an out of the box example, what is your project doing and what peripherals is it using?
    3. Are you using the evaluation board launchpad from TI or a custom board?

    I would suggest taking a look at our User guide chapter: Optimizing Bluetooth Low Energy Power Consumption if you are using a similar project to basic_ble.

    Hi David ,

    Thanks for the reply.

    We are using custom BLE board having CC2340R5. Interfacing is only 3V3 supply, 48Mhz crystal and the  RF section.

    After downloading the FW, I just check the current consumption of the board . which is coming out 1.2 to 1.5 mA in some boards and in some boards it is coming out around 1.0mA to 1.2mA .

    The circuit is powered by 3.3V dc .which is decoupling by 10U and 4 100nf capacitors.

    So we are wondering , why this current consumption is not same for all boards. from hardware point of view, I checked all the possible ways like values of com. soldering and all.

    Hello Amit,

    I will put you in touch with a HW expert to assess your case further.

    May I ask what type of operations are you running and what is your expected current draw? Do you have a TI Launchpad to test the FW and use it as reference?
