Hi Experts,

I saw this ADC reference voltage is 4.3V. Can the ADC pin of CC2640R2 be directly connected to the output of a 4.2V lithium battery? or Do we still need external voltage divider to detect 4.2V battery voltage? Thanks!

This is not possible as the ADC is internal and does not support external reference voltage.

Hi Bun,

I want to know if the ADC IO port of CC2640R2 can directly connect to the 4.2V battery output. If it doesn't work, then an external voltage divider resistor needs to be added, which will increase power consumption.

Hi Alex,

Max input is 4.2V so you will need to scale it down. What is your intent? If it is battery monitoring, then the CC2640R2F has a built-in peripheral for this.

Are you referring to this module of Battery Monitor? In my system, VDDS is supplied by 3.3V LDO through 4.3V Li battery. So I cannot use this module to check the 4.3V battery voltage directly. Thanks!

Your options now is either a voltage divider or an external ADC to directly monitor the battery directly.
