CC2340R5: BLE termination event after about 30 to 40 seconds (SDK version 8.10.00.55)

I see a LMP TIMEOUT in the log you sent, I am not familiar with this error, do you have Bluetooth Sniffer logs to share?

Could you also check if this error occurs when using a CC2340R5 as a central?

Update:

If I use below settings, it seems no termination happening.

But if it is selected with 'Pass to App', then I have a problem and it terminates.

As of now, I do not have sniffer with me due to remote working.

I would need to continue this project development as Peripheral device only.

Just for the test, I tried to run "basic_ble_profiles_LP_EM_CC2340R5_freertos_ticlang" and it seems, there is no such issue.

Is there any way, to identify what can be reason for this LMP TIMEOUT?

I also tried to skip the connection parameter update procedure, but the result is same.

Hi Rasikraj,

I think that there might be an issue with how the BLEAPPUTIL_LINK_PARAM_UPDATE_REQ_EVENT event is handled.

Have you done any modification to the app_connection.c file?

Do you still have the BLEAPPUTIL_LINK_PARAM_UPDATE_REQ_EVENT event in Connection_ConnEventHandler?

I am not using module app_connection.c but other module created for custom application. (but with same handling and functions copied there)

Now within this app, I am sending connection parameter update request with new values.

With settings as mentioned above (Accept all), I do get positive response for this request and no more termination.

But, if I this is set to 'Pass to app', I have issue of timeout and termination.

Yes I get event BLEAPPUTIL_LINK_PARAM_UPDATE_REQ_EVENT and 'accepted' response is sent there.

I see that you have a Connection update parameter failed just before the LMP_TIMEOUT, Can you check that updateLinkParameters  is compliant with the table below?

Could you help me identify if the LMP_TIMEOUT always occur after a Connection parameters update failed?

I'm thinking that the parameter update response may not be sent on time. What is the connection Interval set in SysConfig? Can you try to increase it and see if you still have the error?

I think, I am not able to explain the issue properly.

My custom application is using this new values as in the snap attached previously.

These values taken successfully if I set sysconfig setting as attached previously.

For other settings of sysconfig, I have TIMEOUT issue.

I understand that the issue only appears when you set the Pass to App in SysConfig, 

The theory that I would like to explore now is that your BLEAPPUTIL_LINK_PARAM_UPDATE_REQ_EVENT handler takes too long to answer the param update request. I want to ensure that the parameter update response is sent before a new connection event and before the connection timeout, that why I suggested to increase this values.

For sanity check, do you have the same issue if you use the default value for updateLinkParameters  ?

I don't think this is a issue, Connection timeout time is too long (30-40 sec)

For now, I have workaround for this issue with setting 'Accept All'.
