CC2340R5: BlueZ support

Part Number: CC2340R5
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2652R,

Tool/software:

Hi!

A couple of months ago there was a thread in this forum titled "CC2652R: can CC2652 and CC2340 support BlueZ?"

According to the answer in that thread, one should "keep an eye out" for BlueZ support on CC2340.

I would be very interested in using CC2340(R5) as a controller-only device interacting with an external linux host (i.e. BlueZ) over HCI UART.
So are you in the above mentioned thread saying that this kind of setup will be possible with CC2340 in the future?

If so, it possible to say anything about when this BlueZ support will exist (i.e. are we talking weeks, months, or years)?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

Thank you for your interest in the CC2340R5 device family.

A controller-only implementation for CC2340R5 is currently under development. As you probably expected, I cannot commit to a specific release date on a public forums, but here we are talking about weeks or few months.

    Best regards,

  • I completely understand that, of course. But thanks for your reply and for clarifying the timeline at least a little bit - nice to hear that it's coming quite soon.

    Thanks,
    Fredrik
