CC2642R: UART SPEED INCREASE ISSUE SOLUTION REQUIRED

Part Number: CC2642R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2674R10

Tool/software:

I am working on UART Protocol and in this protocol i am using 1000000(1Mbps) baud-rate to transmit the data but i will not achieve my requirement so is there any possible solution available that in 1Mbps baud-rate i want to transfer 7000mega-bit data in around 20min to 22min using UART protocol ?

  • Hi,

It sounds like you need a way to output data at ~350 Mbit/minute i.e ~6 Mbit/s. The UART interfaces available on the CC2642R device offer up to 3 Mbaud - which is practice will offer a bit less than 3 Mbit/s.
Would you system allow to use more than several UART interfaces to achieve the transfers?

If yes, the CC2642R device has two UART interfaces - and a third can be emulated using the Sensor Controller. In total this should allow you to get the throughput you want.

If it helps, you can also consider an upgrade to CC2674R10 which offers 4xUART (plus one that can be emulated over the Sensor Controller).

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,
