Can the "Socket" communications in the Smart RF Sniffer be used to send BLE sniffer data to a device with generic TCP socket communications? For example: an industrial PLC with Ethernet. If so, does the device or computer need to open the TCP Socket before starting the Smart RF Sniffer Agent?

Hi Chris,

The Packet Sniffer 2 solution generally only supports Wireshark usage:

Any different solutions must closely replicate the Wireshark setup if they are to work with Packet Sniffer 2, and even so this usage would not be further supported by TI. Typically, Wireshark does not have to be opened before starting the Smart RF Sniffer Agent so I believe the same would apply for your instance. There are several options described in the User Guide and I recommend that you review it thoroughly to determine how the socket data output method can be used to suit your needs.
