LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: Unable to connect the hardware to the Simple link Connect App

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1

Tool/software:

I am trying to connect my launchpad to the Simple Link Connect App on my Android Phone. However, on the app I am not able to view any list of available Bluetooth Low Energy devices. When I used someone else's phone (an IOS phone), I was easily able to see Project Zero device and successfully toggled the pins as well. So is there any issue in the app usage in Android Apps ?

  • Hi Raj,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please refer to the following threads and see if this fixes the issues please:

    Link 1

    Link 2

Let me know if this works for you.

Are you also running the out of the box project zero with no modifications?

    Regards,

    Ivan

  • Hi Ivan,

I have checked both threads but to no avail. And yes I am running the out of box project without modifications.

    Regards,

    Raj

  • Hi Raj,

Does this only happen for the project zero example or have you tried the other projects?

What is the your android version? and are you using the latest SimpleLink Connect App?

Can you try using the nRF connect and flash the project again and see if you notice the same behavior?

    Regards,

    Ivan

  • Hi Ivan,
Yes I have tried simple peripheral example as well. Now, the app is able to detect device and connect to it as well. However, I have a small doubt regarding the app. Sometimes, I am able to view the devices and connect to them. Whereas in other times, not even a single device can be seen. Is this a bug in the app ?? My android version is 13 btw.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Raj

  • Hi Raj,

We currently have no known issues in the app. Can you try setting the RSSI to -80 and see if you are able to connect to the project? Have you tried re-installing the app? Can you try with basic ble? What is your goal for the project?

    Regards,

    Ivan

  • Yes, I have tried setting the RSSI to -80 as well as reinstallation of the app. However, I am still facing the issue of unable to detect the device on my phone during some times. Basic BLE, project zero and simple peripheral examples have been tried.

Goal of the project is to receive certain string from the app and send it to another device via UART protocol.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Raj

  • Can you also confirm you are using the latest SDK? Can you confirm you are advertising in legacy mode? Did you try use the nRF connect app if you are also seeing the same issue?

I'll get more information on this and will have to get back to you.

    Regards

    Ivan
