CC2642R: Watchdog activate deactivate

Tool/software:

For an application we need to be able to deactivate an activated watchdog (in Reset mode).
The documentation says that watchdog.close is not yet implemented.

Is there a way to deactivate and reactivate later the watchdog ?

Hi Frederic,

Referring to the Watchdog Timer module of the driverlib documentation (which is used by the Watchdog TI Driver APIs): "Once enabled, the watchdog interrupt can only be disabled by a hardware reset." Thus you will need to keep refreshing the Watchdog (typically through a timer) so long as the device is active.

Yes I saw that. Any idea how to get around this ?

Another related question : After watchdog_open it will start to count down but what is the initial timeout (before I do a watchdog_reload with a value) ?

The driverlib documentation implies that this is a hardware limitation and cannot be worked around. I provided brief comments about setting up a timer to regularly update the watchdog.

The "Period" value inside of the SysConfig's Watchdog Module indicates the initial reload value.
