CC2674R10: Is there the Power Estimator tool for CC2674R10 ?

Part Number: CC2674R10
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5, , ENERGYTRACE

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating CC2674R10. They would like to do power estimator. However, on CC2674R10 webpage, there is no "Power Estimator" tool. For CC2340R5, it exists this tool. Is there any plan for CC2674R10 power estimator tool ? or customer can leverage CC2340R5 Power Estimator tool with some modification ?

Thank you.

  •  Hello Jerry Kuo,

I hope you are doing well. Do you have a XDS110ET handy? We could use EnergyTrace as a way to estimate the power here, follow the information here: ENERGYTRACE IDE, configuration, compiler or debugger | TI.com

    Thanks,
    Alex F

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for your suggestion. However, customer is in evaluating stage. They haven't develop the FW.

Is it possible to base on CC2340R5 Power Estimator tool with some modification to fit for CC2674R10 ?

or to base on CC13xx_CC26xx . Power Estimator tool with some modification to fit for CC2674R10 ?

    Thank you.

  • Hello Jerry,

If you happen to have a CC2340R5 (or CC26xx) handy what you could do is build->flash->energy trace but leave EnergyTrace open! now once EnergyTrace is open you should be able to use it with whichever supported device (CC2674R10).

What I tend to do is have one CCS workspace open just with EnergyTrace , and another one for development, you would work/build/flash the development workspace then run EnergyTrace to see current/power estimates.

Let me know if this works or does not work for you.

    Thanks,
    Alex F
