CC2642R: BT SIG Registration Changes Starting July 1, 2024

Part Number: CC2642R

Tool/software:

I'm working with a customer who is reporting some changes to the BT SIG registration and our stack qualification.

I am working on registering products that use the TI software stack with the Bluetooth SIG group. The SIG registration site and process changed as of July first, and this is the first qualification we are doing since then. When we upload the ICS file there is new inconsistencies that we must resolve that is causing new test requirements. Have you experienced anything similar or has your team re registered the software stack with the new requirements? Thanks in advanced for any guidance you provide, I look forward to hearing from you.

Do we have any experience with this since July? Any thoughts to help the customer?

Thanks,

Stuart

  • Hi Stuart,

    Thank you for reaching out.

As you have mentioned, the Bluetooth SIG has modified the certification process in July 2024.

The new tool will raise inconsistencies for DN (previously called QDID) obtained with older TCRL where certain test cases did not exist. In such case, we were advised by Bluetooth SIG to use TCW (ES-25636) to waive the invalids and proceed with the qualification process for the product.

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,

  • Clement,

I have confirmed with the customer that this will resolve their issue.

    Thanks,

    Stuart
