CC2340R5: CC2340R5 - SmartRF Studion 8 Target not seen

Part Number: CC2340R5
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, LP-XDS110ET,

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have 2 development boards that uses CC2340R5 modules + XDS110 debugger. I can download in Code Composer some examples (not all of them) but with SmartRF Studio 8, the target are not seen. I saw that someone else had issues with REV A read from Uniflash, but I don't get to Use Uniflash, I get errors:

Please see smartRF config

LP-XDS110ET has EVM Rev:A (it is written on the Box, I don't know how to read it).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mircea

  • Hi Mircea,

The referenced post is referring to Rev A on the LP-EM-CC2340R5.

The LP-XDS110ET Rev should not matter.

To confirm, are you able to consistently operate those functions with this HW combo:

    • LP-XDS110ET
    • LP-EM-CC2340R5 Rev B

If that combo is working, then followup question: have you received a HW review on your development board? Is that a module you designed, or ordered elsewhere? If ordered elsewhere, what is the part num?

Once we have all of this confirmed, I can reach out to the correct HW expert for advice.

    Thanks,
    Toby

  • Hi Toby,

Thank you very much for the answer. These are 2 development boards (LP-EM-CC2340R5) I have got from TI a while agot to start a new project. The start of the project was delayed but eventually we have had the time to start it.

We don't have a Rev B board but I think that I might need to buy one. Can I find out if I buy the same board from the TI Store which revision will we get?

    Thanks,

    Mircea

  • Hi Mircea,

Ah, that likely explains it then.

If you received that HW around 2022, then it is likely you would need newer HW now.

We don't have a Rev B board but I think that I might need to buy one. Can I find out if I buy the same board from the TI Store which revision will we get?

Yes, the latest inventory should have the right HW to work with our latest SDKs and tools.

    Thanks,
    Toby
