Hi Team,

I have a question regarding the "Analog light sensor for ULPSENSE" SCS example.

Now I am trying to run this example but it gives a warning at the beginning saying:

Board function "BP:Light Snesor / Potmeter" is not connected to an I/O pin on the target chip on this board.

The message suggests a workaround which is to replace the ADC light jumper with a wire to pin 25 and then map the Analog light sensor output to DIOS 27.

I have connected the Light ADC SELECT pin to pin 25 using a jumper wire and mapped output to DIOS 27 as described.

However, I get quite a strange output:

During this graph, I used my mobile flash and then tried to dim the sensor with my hands, but not much can be seen.

Is such signal typical? Can this be a setup issue?

Hello Ahmad,

The wire setup looks correct to me.

On the Launchpad side, can you try adding back the full jumper array? The picture shows only 2 connected.
Also, what launchpad is being used?

Can you try the Potmeter example? That may confirm whether it is a HW issue on the light sensor.

Can you also try on a 2.4GHz only launchpad (e.g. LP-CC2652R7)?

Thanks for your response.

The board I am using is the LPXL-CC1352P1. I removed the jumpers as advised in the application note: Ultra-Low Power Sensing Applications With CC13x2/CC26x2 (Rev. B)

I added the jumpers again and it seems to work. Thanks!

Thanks for update.

Yes, if you need to view the GUI on SCS, then the jumpers should be connected. In fact the actual values read by the device was likely correct even if jumpers are removed, but the GUI was not showing those values due to needing the jumpers connected.

If you need to measure power consumption, then you should remove those jumpers. Ideally just have power and ground connected.
