MSP430BT5190+CC2560+EtherMind BT Stack - Schematic

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2560, MSP430BT5190

Hello,

On page 18 of the document:

MSP430BT5190+CC2560

EtherMind Bluetooth SDK

Developer Guide

March 27, 2011

I found:

"

The PAN1315ETU is connected at the RF1 & RF2 headers of the MSP-EXP430F5438. To use the PAN1315ETU

with MSP-EXP430F5438, the following pins of RF3 needs to be shorted as shown below.

"

What follows is a picture showing the connections on the RF3 header and this end up with shorting the following pairs of IO ports:

P11.0 - P1.2

P9.4 - P1.5

P9.5 - P1.6

P8.1 - P1.3

1) What is the purpose of doing this?

2) Do I need to follow this in my application's final schematic?

Thank you for your attention!

Regards,

Joseph
