LAUNCHXL-CC1352P: Project Zero only runs/advertises when flashed. Does not come up again after reset until next flash

Tool/software:

Project Zero is only visible (advertising) when I flash it onto my LAUNCHXL-CC1352P-4 until the power is turned off or I press the reset button.  It doesn't come up after that until I flash it again.  I've read many questions like this one and have also flashed the 'bim-offchip-CC1352P_4_LAUNCHXL-mortos_ticlang" project onto the board.  Still no joy.  I am not using OAD - only USB connection and

The version of Project Zero is project_zero_CC1352P_4_LAUNCHXL_tirtos7-ticlang  

I'm using a Mac running MacOS Monterey Version 12.6.7 but I don't think that should matter.  

As I understand, I build and flash the bim project and then my project_zero project.  What am I missing?
