CC2340R2: How to set Tx power of controller

Part Number: CC2340R2

Tool/software:

Hello,

How to set transmission ( Tx) power of controller . and what is current of different value . In datasheet gives the value   5.1mA TX at 0dBm   and  < 11.0mA TX at +8dBm.I set tx power in syscfg file, it is correct way to set Tx power ? below i attached image of my syscfg file.

when i set 0dBm Tx power my transmission current between  5.2mA to 5.7 mA  and when i set 4dBm Tx power my transmission current goes up to 10 mA . what is exact transmission  current when set 4dBm Tx power.

  • Hello,

Table 7.10 of the datasheet lists the power draw of TX with different tx values:

To  be clear, if you are using a BLE example, the current consumption may not exactly match these figures as the current draw will include running the application, UART, ect. To get a very accurate reading for the radio transmit current, then using a propRF example would likely be best. I would suggest using the BLE examples (with the display disabled) to get a real-life power draw reading for power consumption purposes.

    Best Regards,
