Hi,

The CC2340R5 Launchpad RF front end circuitry is below. Is this strictly recommended or are there other circuitry with lesser components?

    Hi Kel,

    it looks like you're not using the current version of the reference design. That schematic refers to the prerelease version (E3). The current revision is rev A available at https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/swrc381

    It's similar but with a simplified filter section that removes 1 inductor. In addition if you're not using the external connector then the diode may be removed as well. It may also be possible to reduce the antenna matching component count but we recommended placing the three component network close to the antenna at least in prototypes. This assures that you have enough flexibility to properly match your antenna. If you can match the antenna with 1 or 2 components then the footprint can be removed in subsequent revisions. The external antenna connector is not required except for test and validation purposes since it simplifies performing conducted measurements. You can always solder a small pigtail connector when you need to perform those measurements.

    No, it is Rev A. The link you sent me schematic is not different from what I currently have.

    I would like to see this circuitry.

    Would be nice to have an official technical document regarding recommended RF circuitry for CC2340R5.

    The correct schematic will show rev A in the title block:

    The official technical document that shows all the recommended RF circuitry is the LP-EM-CC2340R5 Evaluation Board schematic currently at revision A. Please review this revision and let me know if you have any questions based on the above commentary.
