CC2340R5: XDS560v2 System compatibility with serial wire debug interface (SWD)

Part Number: CC2340R5

Tool/software:

Hello,
I would like some information about the debug interface of the CC2340R52E0RKP
The chip uses the debug interface “serial wire debug (SWD)” (which is an ARM bi-directional 2-wire protocol) and the component datasheet explicitly states that: 8.10 Debug On-chip debug is supported through the serial wire debug (SWD) interface, which is an ARM bi-directional 2-wire protocol that communicates with the JTAG Test Access Port (TAP) controller and allows for complete debug functionality.
SWD is fully compatible with Texas Instruments' XDS family of debug probes.
We have the XDS560v2 System Trace emulator from Spectrum Digital.
Can you tell me if it is compatible with the ARM serial wire debug interface (SWD) of the CC2340R5?
Regards,
Fabio
  • Hello Fabio,

The XDS560v2 had some issues with our older devices (CC13xx/CC26xx) so I would recommend against using it for the CC2340R5. As an alternative I would recommend switching to either the XDS110 or one of the devices in the "connection" dropdown menu:

    Thanks,
