CC2340R5: Chip application problem

Part Number: CC2340R5
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Please confirm this problem. Can the CC2340R5 use internal DCDC/GLDO output 1.8V for chip VDDR and VDDS?

Right now we have an external 1.8V dcdc. Now I want to omit it, I wonder if I can? Are there any detailed instructions on how to do this?

  • Hi,

You can certainly use 1.8V to power this device, but you are limited to GLDO mode which will require you to remove L1 on pin 30 as shown below and change the settings in sysconfig for GLDO.

    Best regards,

    Bun

  • I asked earlier, can you have a more detailed explanation and a complete circuit description? Thank you! What I actually mean is to use the internal DC-DC of this chip to supply power to other external chips, I don't know if it is feasible, such as output 1.8V or 3.3V

  • Per the TRM, we do not recommend using the internal DC-DC (VDDR pin) to power external circuitry. However, you can use the GPIO pin but the current is limited to the drive strength of the pin with 10mA being the max on certain pins.
