CC2652R: Issue in importing HOGP HID profile example from Github

I am using the below link from Github, to enable a HID keyboard demo on my CC1352 and CC2652 Launchpads.

The SDK version is as below.

simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_7_41_00_17

CCS version is as below

Version: 20.0.0.12__1.6.0

Default VS Code API: 1.92.2

I have copied the the project in these paths of the SDK

C:\ti\simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_7_41_00_17\examples\rtos\CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL\ble5stack\hid_emu_kbd

Source files, as below

C:\ti\simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_7_41_00_17\source\ti\ble5stack\profiles\hid

When I try to import the project I am getting error as " Problems importing project(s): No TI Arm compilers, supporting device 'CC2642R1F', are currently installed"

Please let me know next steps.

Unfortunately there is no support for the CC2650 and CC2640R2 launchpad board based SDK/ARM compilers too.

Thanks for reaching out. Please take a look at this thread that can be useful to cover the first steps of verifying the installation: https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/code-composer-studio-group/ccs/f/code-composer-studio-forum/770297/ccs-launchxl-cc26x2r1-imported-project-giving-compiler-error. You could also start from a simple peripheral example and then add the HID related files to the project. Let me know if you need help with this.

Thanks for the reply, but it does not solve the issue.

The link you have shared has old CCS versions.

I have followed as suggested in the link you have sent [ Have attached the screenshot of my device component selection during installation, I have selected "wireless connectivity" and I assume it includes all CC26xx and CC13xx chipsets]

Hi,

According to the Github link the HOGP-BLE-HID-EXAMPLE has been ported to work for SDKv5.10. So, try to make it work first with that SDK version using the recommended CCS version 10.3 according to the release notes.

Are you suggesting that I install older CCS10.3 and use the SDK5.10?

I installed the CCS and the below paths.

C:\ti\ccs1030

C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_5_30_01_11

I did it, also installed the corresponding TI RTOS, but still I get the TI RTOS not found error, but it is installed in the path as below.

C:\ti\tirtos_cc13xx_cc26xx_2_21_01_08

Now I get error as attached.

Hi,

I don't have CCSv10.3. I used CCSv12.1 and SDKv5.10. It build without errors. I did not test this with the launchpad.

I do not know if this works. But, what you can do is use SDKv7.41 simple peripheral as base. Then port the hid_emu_kbd.

I have hid_emu_kbd working with CC2640R2F. I ported it from CC2640. But, it has been a while, so I am not sure if the same HID profile will work with Windows 11.

Hi Vijay,

As Markel mentioned (Thanks, Markel! :) ), you should use the SDK version specified in the exmaple readme and the CCS version specified in the SDK release notes. The profile should work with Windows 11 and should build when using the expected tools versions.
