LP-CC2652RB: Packet Sniffer 2 with LP-CC2652RB

Part Number: LP-CC2652RB

Tool/software:

Hi All,

I am trying to move from the old version TI Packet Sniffer onto new Packet Sniffer 2 with Wireshark.

Have purchase the LP-CC2652RB LaunchPad board to work as the sniffing device and configured all the plug in and wireshark as per:

Wireshark version 4.0.17

https://software-dl.ti.com/lprf/packet_sniffer_2/docs/user_guide/html/users_guide.html

Our target device is only advertising on 37.

No bonding / pairing.

I can seem to capture the connection and then get data on Wireshark but it doesn't seem to relate these packets (or interpret them) as BLE Protocol.

This what I currently get. Keep looking at setup reference guides but unsure what is going wrong. Should this work okay?

Many Thanks

Rob

  • Hello Rob,

Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, that is expected, as this is a limitation of the chip. For more in detail packet sniffing, you will need a more advanced packet sniffer.

    Best Regards,
