CC2642R: CC2642 chip goes to Dead condition. Unable to advisement MAC address

Part Number: CC2642R

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

In what conditions CC2642 chip goes to Dead condition. Unable to advisement MAC address & no functionality.

Reagrds,

Rajani

  • Hello Rajani,

Thank you for reaching out! This is a bit of an open question, could you answer these questions:

Are you running a default example from the SDK? If so, what modifications have been made to the initial example?

What SDK version are you using?

When is the device hanging and not functioning properly?

    Best Regards,

    Tarek

  • Hi Tarek,

    Sorry for late reply.

    problem is not resolved.

    SDK we are using 'Simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_5_20_00_52\examples\rtos\CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL\ble5stack'

We are running our own application.

    The FW is working well.

The problem we are observing intermediate not always. 20times Flashing FW via JTAG 5 times found this issue. Unable to get BT MAC address, unable to communicate to CC2642 chip. Tried SW RESET, not working

Not sure device went unknown stat or Dead or FW is not there.

Same HW is working next time FW erase, loading.

Suggest options to identify root cause.

    Thanks,

    Rajani

  • Hello Rajani,

I'm sorry for to hear that! What example from the SDK are you using? Also, are you attempting to change the MAC Address (also known as the BLE address)? And have you tried debugging this issue? If not, could you try and let me know when the device goes into the "dead" state you've described?

    Best Regards,

    Tarek

  • Hi Tarek,

Production script we are writing MAC address. Like 0017557977BF

We started debugging this issue put some buzzer indication at different location in code.  But when problem observed the code is not hitting Buzzer.

We are using Elprotronic Gang Pro CC Flash programming tool is using. Is any issue

SDK we are using BLE multirole peripheral/central.

    Regards,

    Rajani

  • Hello Rajani,

Thank you for providing this information! I do have a few more questions regarding this matter:\

    1.  Could you share a picture or wiring diagram of the flashing setup?
    2. Is this issue seen when flashing using the XDS110?
    3. Are you writing the same MAC address to all the devices?

    Best Regards,

    Tarek

  • Hi Tarek,

    1. Attached Pitcher

2.We are using Elprotronic-GangPro ARM. Attached config file below. Please help me if anything we are missing.

    3. Different MAC Address are written

    Regards,

    Rajani

  • Hello,

I understand you are using the Elprotronic-GangPro ARM, but just as a test, could you attempt to use the XDS110 and let me know if that works

    Best Regards,

    Tarek
