CC2745R10-Q1: RSSI value is small and rarely change along with distance change

Hi,

We have tested RSSI reading on custom designed PCB(both Tx/Rx side are using CC2745P10. Rx side gets RSSI with HCI_ReadRssiCmd every 50ms). 

RSSI reading seems very low. At 1 centimeter distance, it's -55db. At 1 meter distance, it's -75db. When distance is bigger than 2 meters, RSSI barely change.

The Tx power value in Syscfg tool has already changed to max. 10. Any advice? Thanks.

    Hi there,


    You most likely need to start with whether your antenna is tuned properly and also look at your clock tuning as well. First thoughts are return loss and general antenna placement causing some detuning of some sort. Can you discuss a bit about what testing you have done to ensure the operation of these? Are you doing any measurements with SmartRF studio to confirm if you see the same behavior at a HW level (removing the SW dependencies)?
