LP-EM-CC2745R10-Q1: CS_demo_PG2_2.0.0 cannot work

Hi,

We are testing your CS_demo with LP-EM-CC2745R10-Q1 & BP-EM-CS. When we execute ble_cs_demo.py with initiator, it response "Initiator tried to sync to reflector node 1 and failed. Proceed to next CS sub-event." Do we need do anything on reflector? Please help us to solve this problem, thank you.

    Apologies for the delayed response. I do see that the initiator device is not able to communicate with the reflector node, and therefore cannot perform the channel sounding procedure. I would like to confirm a few aspects of the Channel Sounding setup before we could debug any further the issue. 

    1. Could  you confirm if you have rotated the capacitor CA1 to enable the SMA adaptor (please see attached figure). If this capacitor isn't rotated , it will not enable the BP-EM-CS antenna elements. 

    2. Can you confirm you have selected the right COM port from the device manager. It should appear as XDS110 Application port within your device manager. 

    3. Can you confirm if you are utilizing the correct precompiled firmware. It should be located under CS_demo_PG2_2.0.0\precompiled_fw\BP-EM-CS\CC27XX\VCE_demo, with CS_LP_EM_CC2745R10_INITIATOR_nortos_ticlang.out being the initiator image and CS_LP_EM_CC2745R10_REFLECTOR0_nortos_ticlang.out being the reflector image. 

    4. If you have the right choices for 1, 2 and 3, could you try to rerun the python script with the --maxRange option value set to 15 instead of 40.

    --> YES, We test them with smartRF studio 8 and they work correctly

    2. Can you confirm you have selected the right COM port from the device manager. It should appear as XDS110 Application port within your device manager. 

    --> YES, We test it on both COM port

    3. Can you confirm if you are utilizing the correct precompiled firmware. It should be located under CS_demo_PG2_2.0.0\precompiled_fw\BP-EM-CS\CC27XX\VCE_demo, with CS_LP_EM_CC2745R10_INITIATOR_nortos_ticlang.out being the initiator image and CS_LP_EM_CC2745R10_REFLECTOR0_nortos_ticlang.out being the reflector image. 

    4. If you have the right choices for 1, 2 and 3, could you try to rerun the python script with the --maxRange option value set to 15 instead of 40. 

    --> YES, but they still cannot work.

    Can you share your .out file? As my understanding, the reflector should send adverting after programming. But we do not see any advertising.

    It still cannot work after programming.

    1. it does not send advertising after programming "CS_LP_EM_CC2745R10_REFLECTOR0_nortos_ticlang.out"

    2. The LP-EM device info is "E(2.0)"

    3. I test this LP-EM with "simplelink_lowpower_f3_sdk_8_40_02_01 --> basic_ble_app.hex" and it work correctly.

    Would it be possible if you could send me a screenshot of your setup and also the python command you are using for running the CS demo. 

  • Kimi had described the details of our setup and python command in his initial post. What we see strange is that we cannot see reflector advertising after power on. If the information in mimi’s initial post is not enough, please elaborate what we need to provide further.

  • Hello Yikai,

    I would like to understand if your reflector device is connected to an independent power supply (eg: a portable power bank) and is not connected to the PC/laptop you are running the CS demo on. Also, could you change the --maxRange from 40 to 15, and let me know if that helps with the demo.
