CC2340R5: What causes Error -615?

Part Number: CC2340R5

Tool/software:

Hello.

I am developing a device equipped with the CC2340R5.
An unexpected behavior occurred while the device was running, so I tried to attach it to the CC2340R5 and analyze it.
However, no matter how many times I try, Error -615 @ 0x0 appears and I cannot connect to the CC2340R5.
So, my question is, what are the conditions for Error -615 @ 0x0 to appear?
What do you think could be the cause of Error -615 @ 0x0?

Thank you.

CS_DAP_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -615 @ 0x0) The target failed to see a correctly formatted SWD header. The connection to the target may be unreliable. Try lowering the TCLK setting before trying again. (Emulation package 20.0.0.3178)

  • Hi !

Error -615 usually happens when you power cycle the board in the middle of debugging. How are you attaching and analyzing the CC2340R5 ?

    Kind regards,
    Maxence

  • Hello tsuchiya,

I've compiled a list of similar E2E requests and resolutions in this E2E posts.  The XDS110 debugger is recognized but not the CC2340R5 target.  You likely are not using Rev A device silicon if the device has been reprogrammed in the past, but it may be possible that the CCFG area has been corrupted and if this is the case then there are possible steps to recover from this (however I have not needed to test this for several years).  You should also evaluate your SWD connections to ensure that they are connected well and as short as possible.

    Regards,
    Ryan
