CC2651R3SIPA: Absolute Max Current Consumption

Part Number: CC2651R3SIPA

Tool/software:

Is it fair to assume that the absolute max current consumption is at Radio Transmit: +5dBm? So when sizing upstream regulators, there is nothing else pulling large current? If I account that this device will pull 30mA absolute maximum, is that a good assumption to include generous margin?
I will be running it off 3.3V.

I will be using this device solely as a Bluetooth Tx/Rx. Having the integrated antenna is key. Are there better options for this dedicated purpose?

  • Hi,

The general maximum current consumption is when transmitting at 5 dBm and the typical current consumption is 10 mA for a 50 ohm load (VSWR 1.5:1).

If the antenna is detuned, then this current consumption can increase so just double check your current consumption under the conditions for a tuned antenna and also a detuned antenna (body effects etc if applicable).
