CC2340R5: basic ble example in debug build cannot run

Hi TI,

I build the basic ble example using IAR compiler in debug mode. If the JTAG is connected, it can run perfectly on the LP CC2340R5 dev kit. If the JTAG is disconnected, the application cannot run on its own after a power reset.

Are there some configuration or settings in the source code that need to be handled? Thanks.

Hi Tarek,

I rebuilt the application and flash onto the dev kit. Remove the XDS connection, and the basic ble example runs fine. Seems not a problem at all.

The issue was I configured Display_Handle display variable as DISPLAY_HOST to have the debug messages redirected to the IDE's terminal.

display = Display_open(Display_Type_HOST, NULL);

When the dev kit is unplugged from JTAG adapter, the application couldn't run because the HOST port is opened and not getting responses from the IDE...thus it hanged.

Change to "Display_Type_UART" resolves this issue.
