CC2340R5-Q1: Power estimation for Battery: 350mAH & NXP (Freescale) TPMS Sensor

Part Number: CC2340R5-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

My customer is developing Automotive TPMS and want to know the battery life.

The RFQ will be:

1. Battery: 350 mAh

2. CC2340R5-Q1 will control TPMS sensor for getting values of Temp., Pressure, ...and etc.

3. No button for power-op and reset

4. Target battery life : 3 years

5. TPMS run time/sleep time everyday: 4hours / 20hours

The following is the result from  CC23xx_power_estimator:

The device lifetime(years) seems can not longer than 3 yeas:

But if the average current ( assume: 900nA) of TPMS sensor is added to Average Current, the device life time will drop more.

Please help to provide comments for estimating device lifetime if we can do more for this power estimation.

Thanks.

  • Hi Team,

Please help provide comments if there are other suggestions for  power estimation accurately.

    Thanks.

  • Mike,

Your use of the power estimation tool appears to be reasonable. A suggestion I have is increasing the connection interval for your connection event section. This will have a big impact on the device lifetime and should allow you to meet your 3 year requirement. Similarly increasing your advertising interval will also improve the device lifetime but with a smaller impact. You can also lower TX power but this will also not have as big of an impact as the connection event interval.

    Regards,

    Andrew
