CC2745R10-Q1: Sudden Increase in Sleep Current on Custom Board Using CC2745R10

Part Number: CC2745R10-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

We are using the CC2745R10 in our custom hardware design. The application runs as expected on the TI development board. However, after migrating to our custom board, we initially observed higher-than-expected current consumption.

Upon investigation, we realized that our board does not include an external 32.768 kHz crystal oscillator, although the firmware was configured to use the LF XOSC. After updating the configuration to use the internal LF RCOSC instead, the current draw significantly improved, and the system successfully entered low-power mode.

However, we are now encountering a new issue: after approximately one minute of operation, the sleep current suddenly increases significantly. We have not been able to identify the root cause of this behavior.

This issue was previously suggested by you, and here I would like to add some additional context:

  • The device is configured to advertise every 100 mS.

  • We are using simplelink_lowpower_f3_sdk_9_10_00_22_eng.

  • Our development environment is Code Composer Studio 12.8.1.

We have attached the power analyzer waveform for your reference.

Could you please help us understand what might be causing this sudden rise in sleep current ?

above image you can see after some time how it has increased

you can see initially sleep current of our device was 146.339uA.

After 1 minute sleep current has been increased to 3.18mA.

Thanks & Regards
