Hi,

I see that your software is based on basic_ble. Do you know if the regular notifications from the characteristic 4 of the manufacturer specific service works ? If you're able to recieve a notification from the characteristic 4, then that means the problem is in the transmission of your ANCS notification. If you're not able to recieve it, it means that the reception of notifications is the problem.

Yes i used basic_ble as my base code here. how does they related to ANCS operation? i have disabled all print statement so we don't know whether characteristics 4 notify is working or not.

Do you think these manufacturer specific service could hinder the ANCS reception of notification? if yes, i can remove and test

I just tried with removing all 5 characteristics, still no luck.

Can you please review my code and  tell why ANCS notification not getting received

Hi, could you re-enable the print in the characteristic 4 notification to see if it works then ?

I don't think the manufacturer specific services could hinder the ANCS. I didn't find where you added the ANCS service in the code, how are you adding the service to the GATT table ?

I re-enabled and checked, characteristics 4 notification is working fine.

I am not adding any GATT table for iOS ANCS, we are acting as "GATT Client" and discovering standard ANCS UUIDs and interacting with them.

If you could see "ANCS.c" file there is once state machine for pairing, discovery of services and subscribing. So, as result of subscribing to "NS" characteristics ideally we should get GATT messages in app_data.c->GATTEventHandler.

Hi !

My bad, I thought that you were developing a peripheral instead of a central. If the characteristics notification 4 is working fine and you're able to recieve notifications from a basic_ble firmware from your own ANCS firmware, then the problem is likely that your peripheral is not sending the notification.

You could try to change the event mask of your data handler to 0xFFFFFFFF to be sure to receive all messages possible.

It seems like you write 1 to the CCCD correctly. Does your logs show that it is correctly being written to ? 
Do you have a bluetooth sniffer to make sure that you can see the BLE notification being sent ?

Yes, It is correctly being written, post write operation, i am reading and printing the CCCD value of NS.

I don't have access to BLE sniffer.

You could try to use BTool and host test to see if the handles you are writing to are the correct ones

The handles are correct i am sure of that because i have cross checked with other code which is working fine.
