Hi Team,

My customer want to know and try to fine-tune the BLE OAD throughput of CC2340.

(SDK Version:9_11_00_18)

test range : <50cm

test method: CC2340R5 EVM <-> Smart phone, send 500KB binary from smart phone to CC2340R5 EVM

test time: it cost 118 second (34Kbps)

PS: PHY: 2M, PDU size :251bytes,

They also try to use two CC2340R5 EVM to run OAD, but it still cost the same time.

Please help to provide comments for us to know the BLE OAD throughput of CC2340 and it can be fine-tune.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for reaching out. These are some of the main options to increase the speed of the OAD process:

Increase the baud-rate of btool and host-test (requires modification and re-compiling of the host-test project)
Select the highest possible packet length (MTU size) to avoid header overhead, see SimpleLink Academy: Bluetooth Low Energy Enhanced Over the Air Download (OAD) Advanced
Ensure the fastest possible connection interval is set to 7.5 ms.
Ensure the PHY is set to 2Mbps.
