CC2745R10-Q1: Project name modify

Part Number: CC2745R10-Q1

Hello,

I am currently working on secondary development based on the carnode example project from TI’s SimpleLink SDK and plan to rename this project to BLE2745. I noticed that the TI IDE provides a “Rename” feature, but to ensure the project continues to build and run properly after renaming, I have several specific questions and would appreciate guidance from TI engineers:

  1. Is using the IDE’s built-in “Rename” feature sufficient? Will it automatically update all project-related configurations and paths, including project files and build configurations?
  2. Apart from renaming the project folder and the main project files, are there additional manual changes required? Specifically:
    • Do project configuration files, such as .syscfg, Makefile, or linker scripts contain references to the old project name that need to be manually updated?
    • Are there hardcoded macros, string constants, or header/include paths in the source code that use the old project name (e.g., car_node) and should be changed to the new name?
    • Will the build and debug launch configurations (e.g., debugger settings) automatically reflect the rename or do they require manual adjustments?
  3. What are the recommended, safe, and standard steps to rename an example project in the SimpleLink SDK to avoid potential compilation, linking, or configuration issues?

Thank you very much for your time and support. I look forward to your advice and best practices.

  • Hello,

Are you referring to the Device Name section in General Configurations in Sysconfg? If so, yes you can change the name there and all connected files, variables, macros, and any other linked object will automatically be updated once you save and rebuild. Thanks.
