Panasonic PAN1326/1316, CC2564 Dual Mode operation simulataneously

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2564

Can the CC2564 in the PAN1326/PAN1316 modules operate BLE and Standard BlueTooth (BR) simultaneously?  Can a BLE slave concurrently be a BR slave (to a differing master)?  Also can a BLE master also operate concurrently as a BR slave?  Can a BLE slave (say to an iPhone) concurrently operate as a BLE master (to another sensor device).  The e2e thread belows asks the same questions but there is not follow-up answer.

  • Hi Jimmy,

Can the CC2564 in the PAN1326/PAN1316 modules operate BLE and Standard BlueTooth (BR) simultaneously?

    [MS]: Yes.

Can a BLE slave concurrently be a BR slave (to a differing master)?

[MS]: Yes, and actually it has to be to a different master given that the BT specs prohibit BT and BLE connectiions between two dual mode devices. They should use a BT link.

Also can a BLE master also operate concurrently as a BR slave?

    [MS]: Yes.

Can a BLE slave (say to an iPhone) concurrently operate as a BLE master (to another sensor device).

[MS]: Yes, but keep in mind my comment in your second question regarding two dual mode devices.

BTW, thanks for pointing to the other thread. We have provided an answer now.

    Regards,

    Miguel
