Our system is an industrial IoT gateway which uses a WL1871 (packaged as Jorjin WG7871-BN). As of December of 2024, the some gateways deployed in the field started experiencing HCI timeouts that were not recoverable via a chip reset.
We were able to replicate the issue in the lab while capturing the BT FW logs, an HCI dump on the gateway and a trace of over the air traffic using a sniffer. After configuring the BT chip, an LE scan is started. A few devices are reported in the scan, but then:
