Hello,

I’ve tested the car_node example on the LP-EM-CC2340R53 board, and the program gets stuck in the assert handler due to an OUT_OF_MEMORY error. After checking the memory usage, the remaining free heap is only 80 bytes.

SDK Version: 9.14.01.16
Board: LP-EM-CC2340R53

The example was flashed directly to the development board without any modifications.

Does this example require any specific code configuration?

Thank you for your question.

The car_node example is fully supported on the LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1 board. For your board, you can try increasing the heap in Sysconfig under FreeRTOS > Stack and Heap Sizing > Heap Size. However, we strongly recommend you use the LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1 instead as the LP-EM-CC2340R53 will be limited in performance due to the lack of APU and slower system clock.

Hi Ging,

Thank you for the information. I have already tried adjusting the heap, and the program is now able to run.

I am planning to use CC2340R53 as the car_node and CC2340R5-Q1 as the key_node.

However, I could not find a key_node example in SDK 9.14.01.16. Does this mean that CC2340R5-Q1 does not support Channel Sounding?

Hi Ging and TI Team,

I tried this example using two LP-EM-CC2340R53 boards: one as the car_node and the other as the key_node.

I increased the heap size on the car_node to 0x9000 and 0xA000. With these settings, the program runs and is able to connect to the key_node, but it gets stuck while waiting for NWP_CS_APP_DISTANCE_RESULTS.

I’ve attached the log below for reference. Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue or how to resolve it?

We do not fully support channel sounding on CC2350R5

Do you have access to a LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1 board and could you check if you see the same issue there? I did not see the issue when using LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1. We support key_node example on the CC2350R53, but for car_node example, we strongly recommend using the LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1 board.

Have you tried running the car_node example on the LP_EM_CC2340R53 board?

Yes I tried the car_node example on the LP_EM_CC2340R53 board and I am able to reproduce your issue.

Do you have TI Representative? If so, could you send them this thread and ask them to send me an email? We'll work on getting you the LP_EM_CC2745R10_Q1 board.
