CC2340R5MODA: zephyr ga known issues clarification

Part Number: CC2340R5MODA

Hello,

My customer wanted a little more clarification on a few of the known issues in the Zephyr 1.0 GA for CC2340:

  • For cc23xx boards, MCUBoot cannot be used with CONFIG_PM.
    • Does this mean just the MCUBoot application cannot be built with CONFIG_PM? Or does it have implications on the main application as well?
  • ZEPHYR-250: CC23XX/CC27XX SOC prevents idle power mode during peripheral operation
    • Can you clarify what is meant by operation? Is this just when the peripheral is actively transmitting/ receiving the device stays in active mode, and will resume sleep once whatever is being transmitted/ received is complete?
  • Zephyr-625: LFOSC and EXTLF are not supported
    • What clock source does the device use to derive the LFCLK then? Does it only support an LFXT, or is it using the HFXT to derive a low frequency clock?

Munan

  • Hi Munan,

Apologies for the delay. Let me loop in the right expert to support.

    Best Regards,

    Jan

  • Thanks Jan,

Just wanted to re-ping on this since customer is still asking for some clarifications.

    Munan

  • Hey Munan,

I'm sorry for the delay, i was trying to get a status on all these issues.

For cc23xx boards, MCUBoot cannot be used with CONFIG_PM

This is an issue that has been resolved already I believe. I'm currently working with the team on confirming that we can remove it from the known limitation.

ZEPHYR-250: CC23XX/CC27XX SOC prevents idle power mode during peripheral operation

This essentially means that when the peripheral is "open", the SOC will be prevented from going into idle (which eventually causes the device to go into standby)

Zephyr-625: LFOSC and EXTLF are not supported

    It will be using LFXT.

I hope this answers your questions! Again, sorry for the delay.

    Best Regards,

    Tarek D
