CC2560 power source

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540, CC2560

Hello,

I would like to know If a configuration of MSP430 + CC2560 is suitable for being powered by a coin cell battery. I have read that newer products like the CC2540 can be powered

by this kind of battery for a year. This is a low power application, not for too much data or continuous transmission so Im tempted to think that a coin cell would suffice. Moreover it would be ok for the cell just lasting 2 months , that's much less than a full year.

Thanks.

  • Hello Manuel,

It would be possible if you reduce the CC256x output power. However, CC256x is more suitable for AA/AAA batteries.

    Regards,

    Miguel

  • Thanks for the answer,

I want it to make a keyboard like device. It doesn't look like a processor or data intensive application so I was hoping I could use some low power modes of the chip while not transmitting and that way being able to use a coin cell. I'm afraid AA/AAA are not suitable for this, they are too big.

    Thanks.
