Does the CC2567-PAN1327 support Bluetooth Low Energy and ANT?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2567, WL1837, WL1833, WL1831, WL1801, CC2564

Hi,

I am looking for a RF module or chip that supports ANT and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). There seems to be conflicting information on Panasonic and TI's websites.

The documentation for the CC2567 says it only supports Bluetooth 2.1. So no BLE?

The Wireless Connectivity guide from TI says, "CC2567-PAN1327 (p. 15) will all be software-upgradeable to BLE in 2H’2011." on page 16. Has this happend yet?

The Panasonic datasheet says it supports Bluetooth 4.0. Does that mean it supports BLE now? Distributors are not advertising these modules as BLE so will I have to upgrade them?

Thanks

  • The CC2567 support Bluetooth and ANT.  It supports Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR and ANT+.

  • Thanks for the confirmation. Do you know if it will be "software-upgradeable to BLE in 2H’2011"? That quote was from page 16 of the Wireless Guide. Not 15 like I previously said.

  • Also, why does the Panasonic datasheet that I posted earlier say "Fully Qualified Bluetooth v4.0 EDR"?

  • Bluetooth 4.0 will be supported by the CC2564 (PAN1326) Panasonic module which is launching this month.

CC2567 does not support BLE, just Bluetooth 2.1 and ANT.
