CC2540 - ID2933: Communication error with CC Debugger

I've been using the CC2540 Mini Dev Kit for a couple weeks now and it seemed to be working correctly for the most part.  But now I can no longer link to the keyfob using BTool.  Since I've had to remove the battery so many times (it locks up a lot) to reset the keyfob, I'm wondering if something has gotten damaged, or if the firmware got erased somehow, or if the battery has worn down.  I tried reloading the CC2540MiniDkDemoSlave.hex on the keyfob but now the CCDebugger won't connect to it.  Get the error message CC2540 - ID2933: Communication error with CC Debugger.  The CC Debugger does show up in the list with EB ID 2933.  Anybody have any ideas?  TI, PLEASE install a switch on the KeyFob so we don't have to keep removing the battery!

    John,

    Make sure that your battery is not empty.

    For just a simple reset with the battery inserted you can "lift" the coin cell with your nail carefully and then release to successfully give the device a heard reset, I know it's inconvenient but it works. To avoid using the battery you can always power the device with the debugger if you short circuit the R1 just next to the DEBUG header.
