Hello everybody,

I need your help. I want to connect 2 CC2540. A CC2540 is connected with a microcontroller (I'm using HCI Commands through UART like peripherical) and other is connected to PC (I'm using serial port like central).

I want to send information of form bidirectional, but I don't know like to do this.

have you looked at the SerialApp demo code in the wiki?

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, I have looked. but I haven't seen what is the HCI command to send data through HCI (from PC) and to transmit this data to the serial port of the CC250 (with microcontroller).

Hi Jaime,

Have a look at TI_BLE_Vendor_Specific_HCI_Guide.pdf. You will have to use for example GATT_WriteCharValue or GATT_Notification on one side to go via the BLE stack over the air to the other side.

Hi Aslak.

You are right. I used the GATT Notification, I can now to send data via BLE stack and receive this data in my PC or microcontroller, but I don't receive confirmation from the other part.

Can I activate some notification to microcontroller o PC when I write in the handle via GATT_WriteCharValue?

Hi Jaime,

I believe when using GATT_Notification there will be no automatic response, but if you use for example WriteReq, you will get (or have to manually send) a WriteRsp back. If both sides are controlled by a PC, you could perhaps try to send a WriteRsp manually when you have received a notification.

hi Jaime,

me and my team are also working on the similar kind of project, we are trying to communicate to the cc2540 chip using vendor Specific HCI commands, cc2540 is working on a hostTestapp firmware provided by TI.

we are having hard time to find a library or a header file that can be used to compile the GAP & GATT commands for the msp430, did you use and precompiled library or header file for the application that is sending GATT Notifications to cc2540 chip from microcontroller?
